APRIL
April 19 - Angels RBI Baseball Clinic @ Angel Stadium
The Angels will host a morning Baseball Clinic at Angel Stadium for the members of the Angels RBI League. Members of the league, ages 12 to 18, will have the opportunity to hone their fielding, batting, sliding, and pitching skills in the outfield with Boys & Girls Club staff, local coaches, and select Angels' players and coaches. The Angels RBI League, as a partnership of Major League Baseball, Angels Baseball and local Boys & Girls Clubs, provides kids who would otherwise not have the chance, the opportunity to play baseball and softball in an organized league.

April 19 - Mike Scioscia Youth Baseball Clinic presented by Howards
From 10:30 AM until Noon, join Angels Manager Mike Scioscia as he and the Amateur Baseball Development Group host over 300 kids at the Mike Scioscia Youth Baseball Clinic. The clinic will be held at Conejo Creek Ballpark in Thousand Oaks. Angels players, coaches and broadcasters will team up to teach the group the fundamentals of baseball. The free clinic provides the kids with an opportunity to play baseball with the Angels and hone new and old skills. For more information, please visit www.abdg.org.

April 24 - Angels Strike Force to visit CHOC Hospital
The Strike Force will make monthly visits to the playrooms at CHOC in order to lift the spirits of the patients and their families. In addition to helping the kids with Angels' themed crafts, the group will also hand out Angels stickers and hats to the children.

April 26 - RBI Softball Clinic - Angel Stadium
The Angels will host a morning Softball Clinic at Angel Stadium for the members of the Angels RBI League. The Strike Force will participate in the walk by leading stretches, encouraging participants and handing out awards.

April 29 - CIF Awards Night at Angel Stadium
The Angels are proud to honor the winners of the annual CIF Southern Section Academic Awards program during an on field pre-game ceremony. These awards were given to local high school athletic teams who achieved at least a 3.0 grade point average during the first semester of the 2007-2008 school year. Each of the 23 CIF-SS schools also selected a male and female individual Student-Athlete of the Year. After being recognized on the field, the group will be able to enjoy a great night of Angels Baseball with friends and family.

April 30 - RBI Coaches Clinic @ Angel Stadium
Prior to tonight's game, the Angels will host the coaches of the Angels RBI League for their annual Coaches Clinic. In addition to skill and coaching tips, the clinic will include a question and answer session with Angel Manager Mike Scioscia in the Angels dugout. After the clinic, the coaches will stay for a night of Angels Baseball.


MAY
May 4 - Angels Strike Force at the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation (PCRF) 10K run/5K walk- Irvine Spectrum
The Strike Force will participate in the walk by leading stretches, encouraging participants and handing out awards.

May 5 - Angels Strike Force at the Anaheim Chamber Business Links Golf Tournament

May 5 - Angels Breaking Barriers Night at Newport Sports Museum
Angels General Manager Tony Reagins will visit over 200 members of the Angels RBI League at the Newport Sports Museum in Newport Beach. Reagins will speak to the athletes about the pillars of Major League Baseball's Breaking Barriers Program as well as his time at the Boys & Girls Club when he was a kid. Reagins will also talk about the barriers that he overcame to become a Major League General Manager. Breaking Barriers encourages children to break down barriers in their own lives and promotes literacy skills, mathematics, science, social history and character development. The athletes will also have the opportunity to tour the museum and learn the history of sports and various barriers that have been broken by a variety of athletes.

May 7 - Angels Strike Force to visit CHOC Hospital

May 10 - Orange County AIDS Walk at Angel Stadium

May 13 - Angels Baseball Foundation Adopt-A-School Night
The Angels kicked off their new Adopt-A-School program in 2007 by "adopting" five local high schools and five local elementary schools. At the Elementary level, the Angels Baseball Foundation donated a $1,000 grant and school supplies to each of the schools. Each school will also receive a block of 2008 regular season tickets to be used as incentives for the students. At the High School level, the Angels Baseball Foundation donated a $2,500 grant to each school's baseball and softball programs to assist in the areas of equipment, uniforms and field/facility renovation.

On May 13th, the high schools will be honored on the field during a pre-game ceremony. Members of each school's baseball and softball teams will also be attending the game.

May 16-18 - Second Harvest Food Bank Canned Food Drive
The Angels and Second Harvest Food Bank will host their annual canned food drive at Angel Stadium of Anaheim during the Angels/Dodgers series. Volunteers from the Second Harvest Food Bank will have collection bins available at Gates 1, 4 and the Home Plate Gate each day through the third inning. Fans who make a donation will receive a special Angels team photo. Proceeds benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County.

May 26-July 9 - 70s Retro Night Auction
Angel fans now have the opportunity to purchase the game-used Angels' 1971 Home Uniforms (including pants), worn on 70's Retro Night! All jerseys have been autographed by the players and coaches. Stop by the Angels Authentics store at Angel Stadium now through June 1st to bid on your favorite player's uniform. Starting June 2nd, fans will also have the opportunity to bid on uniforms online at the Auctions section of angelsbaseball.com. All proceeds from the auctions will benefit the Angels Baseball Foundation and its mission to create and improve education, healthcare, arts & sciences, and community related youth programs throughout the region.

May 27 - Anaheim Water Awareness Poster Contest Winners
The Anaheim City Council has proclaimed May as Water Awareness Month. For the past 18 years, Anaheim Public Utilities has sponsored a Water Conservation Poster Contest for all Anaheim students in first through sixth grade as part of its Water Awareness Month campaign. The Angels will honor the first-, second- and third place winners of the Water Conservation Poster Contest during a pre-game ceremony. Participating in this contest helps raise the awareness of the importance of water conservation in Anaheim children and their artwork spreads the message throughout the community. After the ceremony the winners are able to enjoy a night of baseball with their families and friends.


JUNE
June 9 - Angels Scholars Pregame Ceremony
In their continued efforts to support youth education, the Angels have teamed up with the Orange County Office of Education and the AVID Program to create Angels Scholars. In its third year, the Angels Scholars program awarded college scholarships to five academically talented, financially disadvantaged public middle school students in Orange County. The Angels Baseball Foundation will award each Angels Scholar $4,000 (plus accrued interest) upon their acceptance into a four-year college. Prior to tonight's game, the Angels and the Angels Baseball Foundation will recognize the third class of Angels Scholars. All three classes and their families will be attending tonight's game.

June 10 - Special Olympics Torch Run Pregame Ceremony
The Angels are proud to welcome representatives from Special Olympics Orange County and local Law Enforcement agencies as they run the Special Olympics torch around the warning track prior to the game. Each year, Special Olympics athletes, in conjunction with Law Enforcement agencies, participate in the Law Enforcement Torch Run to kick off the Special Olympics Southern California Summer Games at Cal State University Long Beach. In the coming days, over 4,000 officers will carry the torch through more than 250 communities in an effort to raise money for local Special Olympics programs throughout Southern California while increasing community awareness of both Special Olympics and its 2008 Summer Games.

June 14 - MLB Pitch, Hit & Run Finals @ Angel Stadium
The Angels will honor the local winners of the MLB Pitch, Hit and Run competition during tonight's pre-game ceremonies. The group will compete earlier in the day at Angel Stadium of Anaheim for a morning skills contest. Entering its eleventh year of competition, MLB Pitch, Hit and Run, is the official youth skills competition of Major League Baseball. Boys and girls, ages seven to 14, are given the opportunity to showcase their abilities in three fundamental skills: pitching, hitting and running. Participants advance through four levels of competition: Local, Sectional, Team and National with the National Finals to be held at the 2008 All-Star Game in New York. Intended to encourage youth participation and emphasize the fun of baseball, MLB Pitch, Hit and Run gives kids nationwide the opportunity to compete free of charge. June 14 - Angels Booster Club/American Red Cross Freeway Series Blood Drive
Each season, the American Red Cross Southern California Blood Services Region joins the Angels and Dodgers' booster clubs for a competitive blood drive. Since its inception, the Freeway Series Blood Drive has collected more than 1,400 units of life-saving blood. As part of a system of sharing blood based on patient need, the American Red Cross Blood Services continues to work closely with other Red Cross blood centers who export blood to help meet patient's needs.

This year's Annual Freeway Series Blood Drive will take place at Angel Stadium and at various locations in the Los Angeles area on Saturday, June 23rd. To make an appointment, fans may call 1-800-GIVE LIFE.

July 15 - Team Up For Down Syndrome All Star Game Party @ Angel Stadium
Join Angels Broadcaster Rex Hudler as he and his family host the Team Up for Down Syndrome All-Star watch party in the Diamond club at Angel Stadium. For more information, visit teamupfordownsyndrome.org.

July 18 - Liz Holzemer to Host Book Signing at Angel Stadium
Liz Holzemer, wife of former Angel Mark Holzemer, will hold a book signing at Angel Stadium on Friday, July 18th outside the Hall of Fame Team Store. Liz's first book, Curveball: When Life Throws You A Brain Tumor just received the Colorado Authors' League 2008 "Harvey" Award for Book Length Nonfiction: Service and Informational. Proceeds from the signing will benefit the Angels Baseball Foundation.

She is the founder of Meningioma Mommas, www.meningiomamommas.org, a 24/7 online non-profit support group she created after surviving a meningioma brain tumor. Her organization has raised $90,000 to date for meningioma-specific research.

Liz has had numerous appearances in the media including Discovery Health Channel, the TODAY Show, Denver's ABC, CBS and NBC, USA Today, Woman’s Day, Woman’s World, 5280, the Denver Post, Rocky Mountain News, and numerous small town rags. She is the 2006 Tim Gullikson Spirit Award recipient (The Academy Award equivalent for brain tumor community service), the 2004 Woman's Day "Woman Who Inspire Us" award winner, as well as a Denver NBC 9Who Care and ABC 7EveryDay Hero honoree.

July 21 - Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Man & Woman of the Year Pregame Ceremony
Prior to tonight's game, the Angels and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society will honor the Society's 2008 Man & Woman of the Year during an onfield ceremony. 2007 marked the first year of the Orange County and Inland Empire chapter's Man & Woman of the Year fundraising event. It raised a record-breaking $270,000 to help find a cure for blood cancer.


AUGUST
August 11 - RBI World Series Championships at Angel Stadium

August 21 - RBI End of the Year Banquet
The Angels are proud to host the members of the Angels RBI League at an end of season banquet prior to tonight's game. Over 600 members of the league will be treated to dinner and special guest speakers in Angel Stadium's Exhibition Hall. After the banquet, the group will all be attending the night's game.

The Angels Gene Autry RBI League, as a partnership of Major League Baseball, Angels Baseball and Boys & Girls Clubs Orange County Alliance, uses the games of baseball and softball to make a positive impact on the youth of Orange County. The Gene Autry RBI League provides kids ages 12-18, who would otherwise not have the chance, the opportunity to play baseball and softball. The league has served over 2,500 boys and girls in its nine seasons of play, with almost 500 playing in just the last season. A structured league format is provided for every participant, including a 10-game regular season; an on-field instructional clinic at Angel Stadium of Anaheim with professional coaches, players and trainers; an end-of-season play-off tournament and all-star team opportunity.

August 26 - ALS Awareness Night

August 28 - Home Run Readers Night
The Angels Baseball Foundation and over 20 local libraries have joined together to create Home Run Readers. In its inaugural year, Home Run Readers promotes summer reading as a positive activity for children. Before tonight's game, one reader from each library will be honored during a pregame ceremony. One lucky Home Run Reader will also have the opportunity to be the Angels Honorary Play Ball announcer before the game.

August 30 - 3rd Annual Angels/Baseball Tomorrow Fund Equipment Drive
Join the Angels and the Baseball Tomorrow Fund as they host their third Equipment Drive on Saturday, August 30th before the Angels host the Texas Rangers! Fans are encouraged to bring new or used gloves, bats, balls, etc. to the ballpark and drop them off at any of the bins located at Gates 1, 4 and the Home Plate Gate. Volunteers from North Anaheim Little League will be manning the collection bins from 4PM through the 2nd inning. Monetary donations will also be accepted. The first 1,000 fans who donate equipment or $10 or more will receive a commemorative Angels pin.

Prior to the game, the Angels and the Baseball Tomorrow Fund will recognize the equipment recipients during an on-field ceremony. The Baseball Tomorrow Fund will also be presenting North Anaheim Little League with a $5,000 grant to help purchase new equipment.

SEPTEMBER
September 20 - Light the Night Walk at Angel Stadium
The Angels partner with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society each year to sponsor the Light the Night Walk. This special fundraising event is held at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. The walk is an annual celebration and commemoration of lives touched by cancer. All walkers carry balloons: cancer patients and survivors carry white illuminated balloons, while cancer supporters carry red illuminated balloons. For more information, visit lightthenight.org.

December - Angels Baseball Foundation Children's Holiday Party
Every year, the Angels Baseball Foundation proudly hosts more than 200 children from various local non-profit organizations during its annual Children's Holiday Party at Angel Stadium. In 2008, Angels pitcher John Lackey, Manager Mike Scioscia, third base coach Dino Ebel, broadcasters Rex Hudler, Steve Physioc, Terry Smith and Jose Mota, Angels Alumni Bobby Grich and General Manager Tony Reagins helped spread holiday cheer by reading The Night Before Christmas to the group and signing autographs. After the story, the children from organizations such as Canyon Acres, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Latino Family Institute, Orangewood, Wishland, and local Boys & Girls Clubs enjoyed dinner, holiday crafts and a special visit from Santa. As they left, each child also received a special gift donated by Angels' employees and Aramark chefs during the prior week's toy drive.
