Players in the Community

On select Friday games, Reds players welcome special children and their families to the field during batting practice. Children meet their favorite players; receive autographs and photographs while getting big league views of the ballpark. Families are invited to enjoy the game that evening.

Buses for Baseball

The Major League Baseball Players Association and the Reds have partnered to provide local youth an opportunity to meet their favorite Reds players. The youth are invited to attend a Reds home game and also receive concession vouchers. As part of the program, several Reds players will greet the children and sign autographs.

Pitch, Hit & Run

An MLB-sponsored free skills competition, Pitch, Hit & Run provides children ages 7 through 14 the opportunity to showcase their baseball skills. Team Championship events are hosted at all 30 Major League ballparks and the National Finals will be held at the 2014 MLB All-Star Game.

PLAY, Promoting a Lifetime of Activity for Youth, is based upon using the celebrity appeal of Major League Baseball and all of its teams and players to help fight steroid abuse and to educate the young people of America about the dangers of steroids as well as promote a healthy and active lifestyle.
