MINNESOTA -- Inclement weather at Target Field caused a postponement of Wednesday's series finale between the Angels and Twins.
Weather reports previously indicated a 100-percent chance of precipitation under the frigid temperatures. But the weather held up throughout the day and both teams showed up to the field. The Angels planned to have scheduled starter Tommy Hanson -- facing the Twins' Vance Worley -- go through his normal pregame workouts.
But about 30 minutes before the scheduled 5:10 p.m. PT start time, the tarp was placed on the field. And shortly after that, the game was called, with no makeup date announced. Both teams have a day off on Thursday, but conditions are supposed to be harsh then, too.
The Angels only make one trip to Minnesota this season, but the two teams also share an off-day on Sept. 9.
