Second baseman had .346 average with Salt Lake

ANAHEIM -- It looks as though Howard Kendrick has found his swing once again, or at least enough for Angels manager Mike Scioscia to believe Kendrick is ready to rejoin the team.Following Friday's 6-4 loss to the Orioles, the Angels recalled Kendrick from Triple-A Salt Lake and optioned infielder Sean Rodriguez.
In 20 games with Salt Lake, Kendrick had a .346 average with two home runs and 11 RBIs.
"We want to bring him up again," Scioscia said. "He has been getting some good at-bats in Salt Lake and he will really be able to give us a boost at the bottom of the lineup."
Kendrick was optioned to Triple-A on June 13 after struggling in the batter's box for most of May and June.
In May alone, Kendrick batted .193 with 16 hits, one home run and three RBIs.
Even with Kendrick being recalled, Scioscia said after Friday's game he would still use Maicer Izturis, the second baseman who has started in place of Kendrick since he began playing with Salt Lake.
"We are still going to use Izzy," Scioscia said. "He has been swinging the bat well."
