Kansas City's Luis Mendoza pitched the Yaquis into the championship series, yielding just one run on four hits and three walks while striking out 12 over 6 2/3 frames as Obregon took the seven-game semifinal series, 4-1. Barbaro Canizares smacked a two-run shot in the sixth and Carlos Valencia added a three-run homer in the seventh.
