    September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, a time to honor and remember children and families affected by these rare diseases, and help rally support for ground-breaking research. To commence Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, the Tampa Bay Rays will wear special gold Childhood Cancer Awareness Month T-shirts during batting practice prior to their game at Baltimore on September 1.

    The Tampa Bay Rays open up a five-game homestand against National League East opponents this Friday at Tropicana Field. The Rays take on the New York Mets (August 7-9) in a three game set before a pair of games against the Atlanta Braves (August 11-12).

    The Tampa Bay Rays have claimed switch-hitting outfielder Daniel Nava off waivers from the Boston Red Sox. To make room for Nava on the active roster, outfielder Mikie Mahtook was optioned to Triple-A Durham.

  • Rays trade Jepsen to Twins for Hu, Tapia

    The Tampa Bay Rays have acquired minor league right-handed pitchers Chih-Wei Hu and Alexis Tapia from the Minnesota Twins in exchange for right-handed relief pitcher Kevin Jepsen. To take Jepsen's place on the active roster, the Rays recalled right-handed relief pitcher Kirby Yates from Triple-A Durham.

  • Rays trade DeJesus to Angels for Lopez

    The Tampa Bay Rays have acquired minor league right-handed pitcher Eduar Lopez from the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in exchange for outfielder David DeJesus. The Rays will play tonight's game vs. the Detroit Tigers with 24 players, and will make a corresponding later to replace DeJesus on the active roster.

  • Rays, iHeart announce extension; Nielson ratings up from 2014

    The Tampa Bay Rays and iHeart Media today announced a multi-year extension that will keep game broadcasts on WDAE 620 AM/95.3 FM. The Rays and iHeart Media have partnered for all 18 seasons of Rays baseball.
