Angels add five to roster
Rodriguez rejoins 'pen, Budde provides depth at catcher

The contract of outfielder Chris Pettit was purchased from Triple-A Salt Lake, adding a 40th player to the 40-man roster.
Right-handed reliever Rafael Rodriguez rejoined the bullpen, with powerful Ryan Budde providing Scioscia with a fourth option behind the plate.
Infielder Freddy Sandoval also made a return appearance along with outfielder Terry Evans.
A versatile outfielder who impressed the Angels with his Spring Training performance, Pettit batted .321 with a .481 slugging percentage and .384 on-base percentage at Triple-A Salt Lake. The former Loyola Marymount star stole 18 bases while getting caught only twice, giving the Angels another late-inning base-running option along with Reggie Willits.
Evans batted .291 with 26 homers and 90 RBIs at Salt Lake. Sandoval, playing first, second and third, hit .304 with .465 slugging and .365 on-base percentages. Budde, sharing catching duties with Bobby Wilson, batted .229 with a .373 slugging percentage.
Rodriguez finished with a 1.85 ERA and 1-0 record in 22 appearances for Salt Lake.
