Arlington, Texas -- The Texas Rangers today announced that the starting time for Saturday's game with the Los Angeles Angels has been moved from 5:05 p.m. to 9:00 a.m. PT due to the threat of inclement weather later in the day.
The game will be televised on FOX Sports West.
The latest weather forecast for Saturday calls for moderate showers and thundershowers to move into the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex by early afternoon and to increase in intensity throughout the day and evening. Conditions are expected to improve by late Sunday morning or early Sunday afternoon.
Tickets for the 5:05 p.m. game on Saturday will be good only for admission to the 9:00 a.m. contest tomorrow. The Rangers Ballpark in Arlington parking lots will open at 9:00 a.m. with the Ballpark gates opening at 7:30 a.m.
"With the possibility of heavy rain affecting Saturday night's game, we feel it is prudent to start earlier in the day," commented Rangers CEO Nolan Ryan. "We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause for our fans, but we believe this is the best alternative given the circumstances and the fact it is the last weekend of the regular season."
