Following last night's successful #BirdlandSocial at Oriole Park, the Orioles have announced a second Social Media Night on Tuesday, August 18, prior to the 7:05 p.m. game against the New York Mets. Orioles All-Star closer ZACH BRITTON (@zbritton) and Orioles.com writer BRITTANY GHIROLI (@Britt_Ghiroli) will take part in exclusive question-and-answer sessions with those in attendance, and Orioles public address announcer RYAN WAGNER (@rwags614) will host the exclusive pre-game party on the centerfield Roof Deck for up to 250 of the Orioles' most engaged social media followers.
The Orioles will open a seven-game homestand on Monday, July 27, at 7:05 p.m. against the Atlanta Braves. The homestand will feature many special events including the Casey Cares Foundation 5K Run/Walk at Oriole Park, a "Play Baseball" clinic with Manny Machado, and Social Media Night at the ballpark. The homestand will also feature exclusive giveaways including a Maryland-themed Oriole Bird bobblehead and a J.J. HARDY player-designed t-shirt.
The Orioles today announced that they have recalled RHP KEVIN GAUSMAN from Triple-A Norfolk and placed INF/OF STEVE PEARCE on the 15-day disabled list with a left oblique strain, retroactive to July 19.
The Orioles will celebrate the 20th anniversary of Cal Ripken, Jr.'s record-breaking 2,131st consecutive game on Tuesday, September 1, at the 7:05 p.m. ET game against the Tampa Bay Rays. The celebration will recognize the iconic moment when Ripken played his 2,131st consecutive game, passing New York Yankees legend LOU GEHRIG, on September 6, 1995.
