Pirates Charities 5K Home Run - Presented by ServiceLink

Pirates Charities invites runners, walkers and fans of all ages and abilities to join us on Saturday, April 13, 2013, for our Pittsburgh Pirates 5K Home Run annual run/walk

Online registration for this event is now closed. You can still register in person at one of the following packet pick-up dates, or beginning at 6:30 a.m. on Federal Street the day of the race, April 13th, at the registration booth on Federal Street.

Advance Pick-up at PNC Park (Pirates Cap Company, Mazeroski Way):

• April 6th and 7th: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• April 10th and 11th: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
• April 12th: 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. (Please note: The Pirates are playing the Reds that night at PNC Park at 7:05 p.m.)

Registration Options:

5K Run

• All 5K runners will be electronically timed.
• Chips will be assigned at packet pick-up on race morning.
• Staggered start times will be assigned.
• Runners will receive a commemorative T-shirt, a ticket voucher good for a complimentary ticket to any one Pirates home game at PNC Park between April 13-17, and be eligible to participate in the prize drawing.

5K Walk

• Participants are welcome to walk the 5K route.
• Timing will not be available for walkers.
• Walkers will receive a commemorative T-shirt, a ticket voucher good for a complimentary ticket to any one Pirates home game at PNC Park between April 13-17, and be eligible to participate in the prize drawing.

Team Challenge

• Team of four people each running the 5K
• The four 5K times are averaged together for a team time.
• Men/Women/Coed (2 men, 2 women) teams
• Team challenge participants will receive a commemorative T-shirt, a ticket voucher good for a complimentary ticket to any one Pirates home game at PNC Park between April 13-17, and be eligible to participate in the prize drawing.

One Mile Family Fun Run*

• Families of all sizes are encouraged to join in the fun with a one mile course.
• Please note that this route does NOT include inside PNC Park.
• Family Fun Run participants will receive a commemorative T-shirt, a ticket voucher good for a complimentary ticket to any one Pirates home game at PNC Park between April 13-17, and be eligible to participate in the prize drawing.

*All runners under 18 will need a parent/guardian to read and approve the electronic waiver of liability upon registration.

Race Packets:

Participants can pick up race packets on race day beginning at 6:30 a.m. or in advance at the Pirates Cap Company on Mazeroski Way near PNC Park (please see dates and times below). Registration will take place outside PNC Park on Federal Street.

Route:

Post-Race Party:

All participants are invited to the post-race party that will be held on Federal Street immediately following the conclusion of the race. Complimentary food and beverages will be provided!

Start/Finish Line:

The 5K and Family Fun Run will both start on Federal Street and finish on the field at PNC Park.

T-shirts/Pirates' Game Tickets/Prizes:

All 5K and Family Fun Run participants will receive a commemorative t-shirt and a ticket voucher good for a complimentary ticket to any one Pirates home game at PNC Park between April 13-17.

Participants will also be entered into a drawing for Pirates 2013 Season Tickets, autographed Pirates memorabilia and more!

Top Finisher Recognition:

• The top male and top female 5K runners in each age group will be recognized on the field at the Pirates/Reds game on Saturday, April 13 during a special pregame ceremony. Age groups are: under 15, 16-19, and 10 year age groups from 20-70+.
• The top Team Challenge group in each category will be recognized on the field at the Pirates/Reds game on Saturday, April 13 during a special pregame ceremony. Team Challenge categories are male, female and coed (2 men, 2 women).
• #1 Pirates Fan - The participant with the most festive Pirates attire will win a customized jersey and two complimentary tickets to the Pirates/Reds game on Saturday, April 13 (7:05 p.m. start).

Winner Notification:

Race results will be printed and posted by 10:00 a.m. and online at pirates.com/5KHOMERUN by 11:00 a.m. Individuals that will be recognized on the field will be contacted via telephone/e-mail with instructions for that evening's pregame ceremony. Please make sure to include a telephone number where you can be reached soon after the conclusion of the race in your registration form.

Timing Services:

Timing services for the Pittsburgh Pirates 5K Home Run are being provided by The Runner's High of Grove City, PA. Chips will be assigned at packet pick-up on race morning at the Registration area (Federal Street).

Parking:

Complimentary parking will be available, courtesy of Alco Parking, for all participants in Lot 6. Lot 6 is located on General Robinson Street, directly across the street from PNC Park.

Cancelling a Registration:

Please e-mail jackie.hunter@pirates.com if you have registered and cannot participate in the race. Your registration fee is non-refundable.
