• Selected by BOS in the 14th round of the 1991 June Draft...The former catcher played six seasons in the Red Sox Minor League system...Reached the Triple-A level with Pawtucket in 1995.

• Graduated from Whitman-Hanson (MA) High School in 1987, where he also played football and wrestled.
• Attended both Cape Cod Community College (1987-89) and American International College in Springfield, MA (1989-91)...Hit .473 (13 HR, 87 RBIs) in 42 games his senior year...Named the 1991 Division II Northeast Player of the Year and earned Northeast-10 Player of the Year honors that year...Played in the 1991 New England College All-Star Game at Fenway Park.
• Is a member of the American International College Athletic Hall of Fame...In 2011 was elected to the Northeast-10 Baseball Hall of Fame.
