There are 13 German players under contract with Major League organizations. In 2009, the Twins signed Max Kepler to the most lucrative contract ever for a European talent. In 2005 and 2007, the German National Team came in fourth in the European Championships. Then in 2010 -- for the first time in 35 years -- the Germans took home bronze at the European Baseball Championships in Stuttgart.
